SHELBY, N.C. — A Matthews man is facing armed robbery charges after police say he robbed a Seven Eleven in Shelby.
Investigators say the robbery happened at the convenience store on E. Marion Street just before 5:30am on June 10th. Joshua Shoemaker is accused of entering the store and robbing two employees, at gunpoint, of money and various tobacco products.
During the course of the investigation, detectives say they identified Shoemaker as the suspect. On June 11th, Shoemaker was reportedly found sleeping in his car in Clover, South Carolina. He was arrested without incident and extradited to Cleveland County where he has been charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of first degree kidnapping.
