CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Part of I-85 in North Charlotte is closed following a crash which injured three people. The driver responsible for the incident has been charged with a DWI.
According to authorities, the crash happened between Exit 36 and 37 at around 12:50 a.m., shutting down all lanes of traffic.
The suspect, Winnie Shurlow, reportedly swerved into the same lane as a tractor trailer near Beatties Ford Road, causing the trailer to loose control and hit the concrete barrier.
During this time, two other vehicles were reportedly hit.
Shurlow has sense been arrested, while the three victims have been transported to local hospitals. The driver of the tractor trailer reportedly has serious injuries.
