Officials Release Name Of Suspect Accused Of Shooting Congressman, Two Officers
UPDATE: Government officials say the suspect in the shooting of congressman in Virginia has been identified as 66-year-old Illinois man named James T. Hodgkinson.
ALEXANDRIA, V.A. — There are multiple reports of a shooting involving members of congress.
Fox News is reporting House Majority Whip Steve Scalise was shot in the hip and possibly the chest.

Scalise was at a baseball field with other members of congress ahead of an annual baseball game between republicans and democrats.
One witness describes Scalise being shot and then dragging himself from the infield to the outfield in order to get away from the barrage of gun shots.
CNN is reporting that two capitol police officers were also hit.
As many as 60 shots were believed to have been fired with several aides also being injured as well. In all five people were reportedly shot.
Other reports indicate that the suspect asked senators whether they were Republicans or Democrats before firing those shots.
Alexandria Police have stated that the suspect is in custody.
