Officials Ramp Up “Vote Yes To School Bonds” Campaign
CHARLOTTE, NC –There is a major push happening to get voters on board with a more than $900 million bond package for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools.
On Wednesday, five co-chairs were announced in Uptown for the “Vote Yes To School Bonds” campaign. The bonds would fund 29 projects across the CMS district.
Superintendent Ann Clark says she hopes the campaign will help commissioners and parents recognize the need for improvement in the school system.
The bonds will also build 10 new schools to help with overcrowding and replace seven schools that were built in the 1950s.
