Charlotte Douglas Expects Busy Fourth of July for Travelers

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Douglas says it is getting ready for one of its busiest July 4th travel days ever.

Around 31,000 people will be screened today alone.

There is also new permanent parking spaces in long term Parking Lot 2, with more expected to open by Thanksgiving.

Travelers should also note that the Department of Homeland Security is demanding airlines to tighten security for international flights headed to the U.S.

Passengers will have enhanced screening on their electronic devices and can expect to see more bomb sniffing dogs.
