New CMS Superintendent, Dr. Wilcox, Sworn In

CHARLOTTE, NC — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District now has a new leader after Dr. Clayton Wilcox was sworn in Monday morning.

The CMS board held a special meeting at the Government Center where District Court Judge Donald Cureton administered the oath of office.

Dr. Wilcox says he plans to spend the summer talking to parents to make sure the schools reflect what the community wants.

Wilcox replaces Ann Clark, who retired after more than 30 years with the district and 2.5 years as superintendent. Clark’s last day was Friday.
