Suspect Wanted In Huntersville Shooting Turns Himself In

UPDATE: Police say Johnathan Williams turned himself in this afternoon.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Police are still looking for a shooting suspect after he escaped a SWAT standoff over the weekend.

Johnathan Williams, 32, is wanted for a shooting that happened around 4:40am Saturday on Stueben Drive. Officials say one victim was shot and removed from the home, along with several other occupants, and SWAT was called to the scene. Officers believed Williams was still inside, and made numerous unsuccessful attempts to establish communication.

Just before noon, North Meck SWAT entered the home and were unable to find Williams inside. According to reports, Williams is believed to have taken off while officials were focused on removing the victim.

Williams is wanted for Discharging a Firearm into Occupied Property, Possession of Firearm by Felon, Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, and Assault by Pointing a Gun.

Williams is described as a white male, 5’9″, 160lbs, brown eyes, black hair, and is considered armed and dangerous. Police say not to approach Williams if sighted.
