CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man hit by a car on Freedom Drive Monday night, has died.
On Monday, July 3, 2017, at about 8:30 p.m., Larry Irby, 62, was struck by 2001 Mercury on Freedom Drive near Ashley Road.
He was transported to Carolinas Medical Center-Main, where he died on Tuesday, July 4, as a result of his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle stopped immediately and was wearing a safety belt. Speed nor alcohol were contributing factors for the driver in the accident.
Mr. Irby was not in a crosswalk at the time of the incident.
