2017 Candidate Filing Underway For Local Elections Across NC

CHARLOTTE, NC — Candidate filing is now underway across North Carolina for local elections to be held in 2017.

Dozens gathered at the Board of Elections in Dilworth Friday afternoon to meet and greet candidates as they began filing for the 2017 election.

One candidate running for Charlotte City Council’s 5th District, Matt Newton, says he wants to focus on the development of the Eastland Mall property if elected.

Filing runs through July 21st.
