LEBANON, I.L. — A woman from Matthews, North Carolina was killed after she was ran over by a float in a parade in Illinois.
Investigators say 33-year-old Shelby Dickson was riding on a float trailer in the Lebanon Fireman’s parade when she jumped off the float and then slip and fell as she attempted to get back on the float.
Dickson was ran over in her attempt to get back on the float. First responders transported Dickson to a nearby hospital where she was later flown to another hospital. Dickson then died from her injuries.
The case is still under investigation.
