MATTHEWS, N.C. — Police are investigating the death of a woman found lying on a sidewalk in Matthews.
According to the Matthews Police Department, at 10:40 pm. on Saturday, July 22nd, officers responded to reports of a female lying on the ground in the 13000 block of Phillips Road.
Officers located a deceased female with what appears to be a self inflicted gunshot wound.
The case is still under investigation.
