EDGE On The Clock: Woman Charged In Kayaking Death Of Fiance Pleads Guilty
CHARLOTTE, NC — The New York woman accused of sabotaging her fiance’s kayak before his death has pleaded guilty to Criminally Negligent Homicide.
Angelika Graswald was previously charged with murder after her fiance Vincent Viafore drowned when his kayak overturned in the Hudson River in 2015. Graswald admitted she removed a drain plug in his kayak before the trip, but claimed his death was an accident.
Prosecutors say she stood to get $250,000 from a life insurance policy.
