New Hope Baptist Church Still Accepting Donations For East Charlotte Apartment Fire Victims

UPDATE: Officials with New Hope Baptist Church say they are still collecting donations for the residents displaced by the Woodscape Apartments fire.

Officials say they have plenty of clothing and shoes at the moment, but are currently in need of canned food products, towels, wash cloths, rolls of toilet paper, and rolls of paper towels.

Any of those displaced residents who are in need should go to New Hope Baptist Church at 7841 Idlewild Road for assistance.

CHARLOTTE, NC — A local Church is asking for more volunteers to help with donations coming in for the victims of an east Charlotte apartment fire.

Members of New Hope Baptist Church say they are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from the community. The Church says they are now in need of more volunteers to help sort through clothes, food, and other donations made for the victims.

Dozens of families are staying in a Red Cross shelter after someone set fire to the Woodscape Apartments on Monday.

Volunteers will sort the donations at the Church on Idlewild Road tomorrow between 10am and 6pm.
