Man Charged In Domestic Violence Incident Bonds Out, Goes After Girlfriend

UNION COUNTY, NC — Deputies say a 20-year-old man out on bond for domestic violence charges stabbed his girlfriend’s friend and assaulted her mother.

According to officials, Quinton Person bonded out of jail shortly after 6:30pm Tuesday after being arrested and charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Assault by Strangulation, Assault on a Female, Communicating Threats, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon in relation to a domestic violence situation earlier that afternoon.

After bonding out, deputies say Person went to his girlfriend’s home in the Wesley Chapel area around 5:30am Wednesday. Person broke into the home, according to reports, and assaulted his girlfriend’s mother. He then went to his girlfriend’s bedroom. Deputies say they believe the girlfriend was the target when Person stabbed her friend multiple times in her bed and his girlfriend was hiding in a closet.

The stabbing victim was taken to CMC for treatment, officials say, with injuries that are serious but non-life threatening.

Deputies say Person took off after the stabbing and was later found in a broken down car near Siler Presbyterian Church.

Person has been additionally charged with First Degree Burglary, Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, Attempted First Degree Murder, Simple Assault, Injury to Real Property, and Felony Violation of a Domestic Violence Protection Order with a Deadly Weapon.

The original charges were related to a domestic disturbance call Tuesday afternoon. Officials say Person and his girlfriend were at his apartment in Indian Trail when he allegedly assaulted her by pointing a gun and attempted to strangle her.

Deputies say the girlfriend ran to a nearby Auto Bell and locked herself in a restroom. Person chased after her with a gun, according to reports, and was arrested at the Auto Bell when deputies arrived.
