MCDOWELL COUNTY — An armed suspect is in custody after a six day manhunt in the Pisgah National Forest.
38-Year-old Philip Stroupe was arrested this morning in McDowell County.
He’s accused of stealing a guy’s mountain bike at gun point, after leading sheriff’s deputies on a car chase, and is also suspected of kidnapping a man.
Trails were shut down in the Pisgah National Forest while crews searched for Stroupe.
