STATESVILLE, N.C. — Iredell County authorities are investigating a death in the 1200 block of Old Mountain Road in Statesville.
Officials say emergency crews responded to a construction accident in an open field sometime before noon.
According to officials, the victim was behind a backhoe, on a hill, when the equipment slid down the hill and pinned the man against a tree.
