Outer Banks Businesses Worry The May Not Survive Power Outage
OUTER BANKS, NC — Business owners are worried they may not be able to survive a massive power outage.
Officials now say crews building a new bridge hit two transmission lines Thursday, not three. However, power could still be out for two weeks on Ocracoke and Hatteras Islands.
Gov. Cooper made a visit to the area Monday and tried to reassure business owners.
Utility officials are working on two ways to restore power. One way involves splicing the damaged cable, and the other would be to install new overhead lines.
