Communities And Law Enforcement Come Together For National Night Out

CHARLOTTE, NC — National Night Out (NNO) has been bringing together local communities and the men and women who police them for 25 years now.

CMPD officers attended a record 92 neighborhood events and block parties Tuesday night as part of the annual event. The goal is to strengthen police-community partnerships with cookouts, porch sit-ins, and other events designed to show that residents won’t tolerate crime in their neighborhoods.

CMPD says the 92 events tonight are a 51% increase over last year’s NNO.
