CMPD & Community Team Up To Clear Site Of Homeless Camp
CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD and the community are teaming up to keep neighborhoods safe after a homeless camp was discovered in east Charlotte.
Police and volunteers worked to clean up the site Thursday on West Sugar Creek Road near Reagan Drive. One officer said they found a couch, razors, used needles, and mattresses.
At least eight people were living at the site.
Police say they have offered to help the homeless people and take them to the soup kitchen or men’s shelter, but so far no one has taken them up on the offer.
