CMPD Investigating Charlotte’s 57th Homicide

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives with the CMPD’s Homicide/ADW Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 2300 block of Ginger Lane in the North Tryon Division.

At 1:56 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2017, patrol officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service.  Upon arrival officers located a male and female with apparent gunshot wounds.  The female victim was transported by Medic with non-life threatening injuries.  The male, Joshua Duckworth, was pronounced deceased by medical staff at Carolinas Medical Center.

Detectives with the Homicide/ADW Unit are canvassing the area to determine whether there are any witnesses to this incident.

This is an ongoing, active investigation.  As further information develops it will be released by CMPD Public Affairs.
