Deputies Arrest One Suspect In Convenience Store Robbery, Looking For Another
IRON STATION, NC — Deputies have arrested a Catawba County man they say is connected to a strong armed robbery that happened Monday.
Deputies say Tyrone Rozzell, 46, of Hickory, was arrested Tuesday afternoon at his home. He is charged with one felony count of Common Law Robbery. Investigators say Rozzell was identified by the getaway vehicle’s license plate, as well as security camera footage from an ATM at the store that was robbed.
According to reports, Rozzell and another unidentified suspect robbed Jerry’s One Stop on East Highway 27 around 8am. Deputies say one suspect pretended to make a purchase, and when the clerk opened the register the other suspect reached in and grabbed cash.
The owner of the store tried to grab the suspect but they both managed to escape on foot.
Both Rozzell and the second suspect then took off in a 2014 silver Hyundai Elantra with NC license plate FAB-1872 that was parked nearby.
The second suspect was described as a black male with a dark colored hoodie drawn tight around his head.
