CHARLOTTE, NC — Diondre Bittle and Cordero McCoy were both found not guilty Wednesday after being tried for the murder of Shawn Parker back in June 2015.
Bittle, 25, and McCoy, 26, were both tried together on multiple charges related to the murder. Both were charged with First Degree Murder, Attempted Armed Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, First Degree Burglary, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, and Being an Armed Habitual Felon. McCoy also faced an additional charged on Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
Officials say charges are still pending against a co-defendant in the case.
Police say 49-year-old Shawn Parker was found shot to death early one Saturday morning in June 2015 on Windy Valley Drive in west Charlotte.
