Novant Health House Call: Concussions
Just in time for a new sports season, it’s time to talk concussions!
There’s been a lot of football and concussion talk in the wake of a recent study that found a neurodegenerative brain disease known as CTE in 99% of deceased NFL players’ brains, but concussions aren’t just a concern for football players.
The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons just released findings from a study stating that female athletes, in particular soccer players, suffer concussions at a “significantly higher” rate than their male counterparts.
