Chesterfield County School Bus Driver Charged With DUI

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — Officials say a bus driver servicing the Pageland area was arrested for suspected DUI.

A Chesterfield County school official said five high school students were onboard headed to Central High School when the bus was stopped.

Several citizens called 911 after reportedly seeing the bus driver driving erratically.  The bus driver, Angela Caldwell, 53, of Jefferson, has been suspended with pay pending the outcome of the investigation.  Officials say she blew a .31 percent on her breath test.

Caldwell has been charged with DUI, child endangerment and broken field violation.
