8AM Couch Chat: Price Gouging In Texas

Hundreds of complaints are pouring in that some Houston businesses are price gouging for the essentials.

A pic was taken at a Best Buy showing $42 for a case of water! Best Buy has said sorry, and that it was a mistake. There’s also reports of gas prices going sky high with reports of up to $20 a gallon.

Get this, economists say this is all okay. They’re actually encouraging it, saying to let the market work and that the high prices means a boost of supplies.

They’re also calling for laws against price gouging to be dropped. A lot of people are saying this is still flat out wrong!

They are experts for a reason… Is it supply or demand OR just wrong?
