UNION CONTY, N.C. — Authorities say a man is in critical condition after being stabbed during an altercation in Union County.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Friday night in the 1000 block of Salmon River Drive.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office says a 63 year-old male was stabbed multiple times by 52-year-old Wayne Roberts.

The victim was visiting Roberts’ estranged wife when the altercation happened.
Roberts’ estranged wife had an active Domestic Violence Protective Order against Roberts.
Investigators located and arrested Roberts at a residence on Kildeer Lane in Monroe.
Roberts faces charges of Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, Domestic Violence Protective Order Violation and Communicating Threats.
