Huntersville Woman Charged With Murder In Fentanyl Related Death
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — A Huntersville woman has been charged with murder after selling a man “illegal narcotics”, from which he later died.
Huntersville Police say Amanda Leigh Allen, 39, has been charged with Second Degree Murder, Sale of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver.
Police responded to a medical emergency at a residence on Dallas Street in Huntersville on May 29, 2017. Bill Ray Bullabough was transported to the hospital and was pronounced dead the same day.
An autopsy revealed Bullabough died from “Fentanyl toxicity” and an investigation determined he had purchased narcotics from Allen.
Allen was arrested June 8th on unrelated drug charges.
Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid used for pain relief an anesthesia. Iit is 100 times stronger than morphine and 50 tines stronger than heroin as a pain reliever.
