CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Irma, now a tropical storm, is impacting operations at American Airline hubs, including Miami (MIA) and Charlotte (CLT).
Due to strong winds, a number of flights have been impacted going to and coming from Charlotte-Douglas International Airport. American Airlines says 353 flights out of Charlotte have been canceled for Monday.
Southwest, United, and Fly Frontier are also among the airlines that have suspended operations until 9:30am Tuesday.
Resumption of service at airports will be based on airport and roadway conditions, including the ability of AA employees to get to work.
AA is also coordinating closely with partners at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). These three agencies must conduct their own assessment of their operations prior to any airline resuming service.
You can review latest Travel Alerts at news.aa.com. As many flights are already sold out, AA encourages customers to only go to the airport if they have a confirmed ticket and their flight status shows βon timeβ on aa.com.
