Covenant Presbyterian Donating $2M For Affordable Housing

CHARLOTTE, NC — The city is about to get some much needed affordable housing after a generous donation from a local Church.

Covenant Presbyterian Church in Dilworth is donating $2 million for a proposed mixed-income development in west Charlotte. The property is near a charter school and a grocery store on Freedom Drive.

70% of the units will be for low income families. The Church hopes the investment is an example to others.

Last September, Charlotte City Council promised to finish building 5000 affordable housing units in three years.
