Police Identify Body Found Behind East Charlotte Home

CHARLOTTE, NC — A homicide investigation is underway in east Charlotte after a body was found behind a home Monday afternoon.

Police say a neighbor found the body of 21-year-old Michael Mills, Jr. in some woods behind a home on Medford Drive around 3:30pm. Investigators say the Mills’ body had been there for a number of days.

Early Tuesday morning the medical examiner announced that Mills had died from a gunshot wound. Detectives then ruled the case a homicide.
