Fourth Graders In Mount Holly Work To Help Hurricane Victims
MOUNT HOLLY, NC — A fourth-grade class from Ida Rankin Elementary is teaming up with Carolina Panthers running back Fozzy Whitaker and Mount Holly Middle School to help victims in Texas devastated by the hurricane.
The goal is to fill a 53 foot trailer with supplies for victims of Hurricane Harvey. Mrs. Cook’s fourth-grade class came up with the idea after they learned that the devastation caused by hurricanes doesn’t just go away once the storm has passed.
What started with only 27 students has now turned into the whole Mount Holly community pitching in to help.
The truck is scheduled to leave for Houston Monday.
