Suspect Accused Of Armed Robbery In Hickory Walmart Parking Lot Arrested

HICKORY, NC — Police have arrested the man they say robbed a person at gunpoint in a Walmart parking lot on September 13th.

Joshua Ruch was arrested Wednesday and charged with Attempted Robbery with Dangerous Weapon. Officials say Ruch was also served with additional outstanding warrants for Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Manufacture Schedule 6 and Resist Delay Obstruct Public Officer.

Around 8pm on September 13th, police say Joshua Ruch approached the victim in the parking lot of the Walmart on Highway 70 SE and pointed a gun while demanding money. Officials say Ruch is also wanted on multiple outstanding warrants including Resisting Public Officer, two counts of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Marijuana, and two counts of Robbery.

Ruch is often seen with Erin Shell, according to police, who is still wanted on a felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle charge.
