4 Suspects, Including 2 Juveniles Charged In Multiple Breaking And Entering Cases
CHARLOTTE, NC — Four teens have been charged in connection to two breaking and entering cases Thursday morning.
Around 9:40am, police say a victim called about someone breaking into their home on Chastain Walk Drive. The victim told officers he was asleep, and then awoke to the sound of someone breaking in. According to reports, the suspects were startled when they encountered another person inside the home and then took off.
Around 10am, officers received another breaking and entering call just up the road on Mountain Point Lane. The suspects took off from that house when an alarm went off inside. A witness told police they saw suspects running from the home and getting into a silver vehicle.
Aviation units spotted the vehicle leaving the neighborhood, police say, and they four suspects were quickly apprehended.
CMPD says two firearms, both of which had been stolen during a home break-in on September 5th, were recovered from the suspects. The suspects did not get away with any other items from those homes Thursday morning.
Derickus Murrell, 17, is charged with two counts of felony Breaking and Entering, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm by a Minor. Savon Poe, 16, is charged with two counts of felony Breaking and Entering, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by a Minor, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
The two juveniles, ages 14 and 15, were charged and released to their parents.
