Officials Identify Woman Killed In York County Accident

CLOVER, SC — The York County Medical Examiner has identified a 59-year-old York woman killed in an accident Tuesday morning.

Officials say Cynthia Roach was driving a 2007 Ford four door sedan north on Highway 161 near Hart Lane around 11:10am when she crossed into oncoming traffic and hit another vehicle head on. Officials say Roach was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Johnathan Brunet, 38, also of York, was driving a 2013 Ford Econoline utility van when the accident occurred. Officials say he was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

Officials are still investigating what led to the accident. A toxicology test was performed Wednesday afternoon, but officials say those results could take weeks.
