Operations, Maintenance of I-77 Express Lanes to Transition to I-77 Mobility Partners

CHARLOTTE, NC – As part of the I-77 Express Lanes comprehensive agreement, beginning Sunday, Oct. 1, I-77 Mobility Partners will assume maintenance and operations in the 26-mile corridor along Interstate 77 between the Brookshire Freeway in Charlotte and N.C. 150 in Mooresville.

This change should not be noticeable to motorists, other than seeing incident response vehicles operated by I-77 Mobility Partners that are clearly marked with identifying logos. Trained staff will respond to incidents that occur in the corridor, in coordination with NCDOT and other first response agencies.

The developer will also be responsible for maintenance operations in the corridor, including debris removal, road repairs and mowing. NCDOT will continue to respond during winter weather events that require snow and ice removal.

The department’s State Farm Incident Management Assistance Patrol will continue operating on I-77 outside the work zone.
