Second Suspect Wanted In Charlotte’s 60th Homicide Arrested In Georgia

CMPD says Darius Perry has been arrested and charged with the murder of De’Monte Perkins.

According to police, Perry arrested in DeKalb County, Georgia early Thursday afternoon. The extradition process has begun, officials say, but there is no timetable for when he will be returned to Mecklenburg County.

This investigation is ongoing.

Update on September 4, 2017

CMPD says they are still searching for 19-year-old Darius Perry who is wanted for the murder of De’Monte RaShawn Perkins.

Perry is described as a black male, 5’7″, 120lbs, brown eyes, and black hair. Officials say Perry is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to immediately call 911 or VCAT at 704-336-8228.

Police have identified the suspect and victim of Charlotte’s 60th homicide of 2017.

According to the CMPD, Jacobe Levone Walker, 23, has been arrested and charged with the murder of 22-year-old De’Monte RaShawn Perkins.

The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released as it develops.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police are investigating a homicide after a person was shot and killed in west Charlotte Thursday.

According to police, a male victim was shot just after 5pm on Windy Valley Drive off of Rozzelles Ferry Road. CMPD says the man was pronounced dead on scene.

Police are investigating. No arrests have been made at this time.
