UNION COUNTY, N.C. — Officials say a teacher at Marvin Ridge Middle School has been placed on paid administrative leave following two complaints of him assaulting students.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office say they received a complaint after the teacher allegedly kicked a student. Deputies say surveillance video of the incident did not show evidence that the teacher intentionally kicked the student and no charges are being filed.
The other incident, which was also caught on surveillance video, was also reviewed and the allegations were unfounded, according to officials. In that case, the same teacher was accused of grabbing a student by the neck.
School officials say due to this being a personnel matter, they can’t give any additional information on the incidents.
None of the students were injured. This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
