Victim And Suspect Identified In West Charlotte Homicide
CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD is investigating after a person was shot and killed in west Charlotte near uptown.
The shooting happened around 12:43pm on West Trade Street near Johnson C. Smith University. Police say 21-year-old Trenton Stevenson was found in the parking with a gunshot wound. He was taken with life threatening injuries and later pronounced dead, according to officials.
CMPD says 18-year-old Raheem House was located nearby, and matched the description of the suspect. House was interviewed and charged with Murder and Carrying a Concealed Weapon (gun).
