CHINA GROVE, NC — Rowan County Sheriff’s say they responded to a reported shooting that took place early Tuesday morning.
When officers arrived at the scene, they reportedly located one white male who had been shot but was still conscious and talking.
The home owner, identified as Scott Moose, told the responding deputies that he had a video of the man attempting to break into his car.
Moose told deputies that he confronted the man identified as, Jason Lee Lambert, 19, when he attempted to flee the scene in his car that was parked at an abandoned house nearby.
During an exchange between the two, Moose reportedly fired one shot from his handgun which struck Lambert in the head.
Medics transported Lambert to North East Medical Center for treatment.
The case is still under investigation and charges have not been issued at this time.
