Police: Chick-fil-A Employee Arrested After Recording Boy Using Restroom Inside Gaston County Restaurant

UPDATE: Police say Franklin had a video, taken on his phone, from behind a 10 to 12-year-old boy, who was using the urinal in a restroom, at the Chick-fil-A in Belmont, North Carolina.

Franklin was an employee of the restaurant at the time the video was taken. Chick-fil-A released the following statement:

“We are aware of the allegations, and the team member is no longer employed at our restaurant. Any further questions will need to be addressed by local law enforcement.” – Natasha Gilbert, Franchisee, Chick-fil-A Belmont

Police notified the store’s management of the charges and location of the crime.

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Authorities in Gaston County have arrested an Iron Station man on Child Pornography charges.

On October 3, 2017, Cameron Shawn Franklin, 27, of Oakhill Road in Iron Station, North Carolina, was arrested and charged with two counts of Third Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and one count of Secret Peeping.

Investigators say they received an Internet Cyber Tip that led to the arrest.

The investigation focused on the downloading of digital images.  The secret peeping charge involves Franklin’s seized laptop.

The Gaston County Police Department is a member of the Internet Crimes Against
Children (ICAC) task force. The ICAC task force program assists local and State law
enforcement agencies with their investigative response to offenders who use the internet,
online communication, or other computer technology to sexually exploit children.
