Unknown Brewery To Add Micro-Distillery
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One Popular brewery in South End will soon become the first in Charlotte to also become a micro-distillery.
The Unknown Brewing Company has a few renovations on tap.Β The 15-gallon, three-barrel pilot system will offer gin, rum, and bourbon.
One employee tells us this venture into the distillery business should be a fairly smooth transition.Β According to Scotty Kent of Unknown Brewing says, “Craft beer and distillery they are both kind of craft industry. There is an art that goes along with it. So it’s along like a natural transition from one end to the other.”
Unknown Brewing hopes to offer gin by the beginning of next year, while bourbon and rum will come after that.
The renovations will also include a new second floor patio with a skyline view.
