A tornado warning is in effect for parts of Rutherford, Burke, Catawba, Cleveland, and Lincoln Counties until 5:15 p.m
The National Weather Service said a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 5 miles north of Rutherfordton, moving north at 30 mph.
