CHARLOTTE – The N.C. Department of Transportation is closing a section of Poplar Tent Road just west of International Drive in Concord later this week so crews can safely extend a cross pipe under the roadway. The work is being done in conjunction with improvements for a new development.
The road will close at 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19 and open by 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, weather permitting.
During the closure, motorists traveling west on Poplar Tent Road will be detoured to International Drive, N.C. 73 and George Liles Parkway. Motorists traveling east on Poplar Tent Road will follow the detour in reverse.
