CHARLOTTE, NC — The suspect in a south Charlotte shooting is now facing murder charges after the victim died Monday afternoon.
Police say 53-year-old Willie Baker was taken to CMC with life-threatening injuries after being shot on Baltimore Avenue the night of October 9th. Officials say he was shot by 60-year-old John Jeeter.
Jeeter was initially arrested and charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Jeeter’s charges were upgraded to Murder after Baker was pronounced dead from his injuries on Monday.
