Confirmed Case Of West Nile Reported In Baxter Area Of Fort Mill

FORT MILL, S.C.  — Another confirmed case of the West Nile virus has been reported in York County.

Officials say they will spray within a one-mile radius of North Sutton Road and Mills Lane in the Baxter area of Fort Mill.

Spraying will start around 8pm on Sunday, October 22nd.  The time frame could change depending on the weather forecast.  The company, Gregory Pest Solutions, will apply the spray in an Ultra Low Volume manner, meaning only an ounce of product is used over an entire acre. While the material is not harmful to people, pets, other insects, and gardens, it’s not recommended to be directly in the path of the spray.

Officials say to help prevent mosquito exposure, eliminate areas of standing water, use insect repellant, keep skin covered, and keep windows and doors closed.
