Cam Newton Responds To The Kelvin Benjamin Trade

In a move that few people can wrap their minds around, the Panthers traded Kelvin Benjamin and re-signed Brenton Bersin.
The trade apparently caught Cam Newton off-guard.
Cam told reporters Wednesday that he learned about it when everybody else did.
The Panthers swapped Benjamin for the Buffalo Bill’s 3rd and 7th round picks in next year’s draft.

During Wednesday’s press conference, Newton didn’t seem happy to lose his friend and favorite target but says his mind is on winning.
“Obviously it’s emotional in nature, but that can’t be a distraction for our preparation this week,” Newton said.
The Panthers also re-signed wide receiver Brenton Bersin to fill their newly open spot on the roster.
The team has cut and re-signed Bersin five times over the past six years and most recently parted ways with Bersin in September because of injuries.
