The victim has been identified as 47-year-old Terry Louis Thompson, of Lancaster, South Carolina.
Lancaster Police say the area Thompson was found in consists of mostly vacant homes and there were no reports of gunshots.
The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.

LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — Police are investigating a shooting that has left one dead in Lancaster, South Carolina.
The incident reportedly occurred around 1:17 a.m. on East Dunlap Street and Thomas Lane. Police reportedly found the victim lying in the street with a gunshot wound, we was pronounced dead on the scene.
