CMPD, City, And CMS Are Working Together To Curb Teen Violence
CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD’s top cop is talking about how to stop crime involving teens after two teens were shot Tuesday night.
Bullets hit a 14 and 16-year-old last night in the parking lot of a gas station off Brookshire Boulevard. Both suffered non-life threatening injuries, but it could have been worse.
Teens are too often involved in violent crimes. Officials say eight of the city’s 76 homicides this year have been victims 20 or younger.
Chief Putney says CMPD, the City, and CMS are working in schools to teach conflict resolution and trying to reduce gun violence among teens.
