Governor Offers $5,000 Reward In Union County Murder Case

Governor Roy Cooper says the state is now offering a reward of up to $5,000 for any information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for killing 87-year-old Sim Flowe on September 6th.

INDIAN TRAIL, NC — Union County deputies have identified an 87-year-old man found murdered in his home Wednesday morning.

Stallings Police say they found Sim Augusta Flowe dead in his home on Gribble Road around 10:45am after being called to conduct a well being check. Officers then contacted the Union County Sheriff’s Office after realizing Flowe’s home was just inside the Indian Trail town limits.

Deputies say they do not yet have a motive, and are waiting for an autopsy to reveal cause of death. It is the county’s first homicide of 2017.
