Suspect Who Climbed On Roof To Avoid Arrest In Northwest Charlotte Identified

Police say the suspect who climbed on a northwest Charlotte roof to avoid arrest is now in custody.

The suspect has been identified as 35 year-old Tyrone Singleton. He was wanted for domestic violence related charges.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The CMPD is trying to talk a man off a roof in northwest Charlotte, after he fled from police attempting to serve him armed robbery warrants.

The CMPD attempted to locate the subject at a residence on Hough Street.  The suspect fled to the intersection of Honeywood and Rozzelles Ferry and climbed on the roof of a building.

Police say nearby streets are closed until the situation is resolved.
